City of Victoria Switches to LED

City crews will be continuing this week to install low-energy LED lights in the hornbeam trees along Government Street.  This initiative – funded by the City of Victoria and the DVBA – is designed to reduce power consumption, ensure a year-round display of lights on Government, and reduce the annual labour required to maintain the lights.  The 8250 LED bulbs will significantly reduce the amount of power consumed – from 57,750 kw/hr for the incandescent lights to 5,362 kw/hr with the LED lights.
